!!! SPOILER ALERT !!! Don’t say you weren’t warned!! For those who were a) not too busy at work this morning or b) were busy but just couldn’t resist watching a fresher episode of Glee via live stream like me, then you’ve seen the shocker that made me hold my breath for more than 10 seconds.
KAROFSKY. You…you…gaaaaah! I don’t know whether to hate him or love him! I mean, sure he can still be called a coward for not standing up for his choice but you can’t entirely blame him for that. (If he did, who’d be Bully #1 to Bully right?) But what I did love was how he showed his vulnerability. He’s so caught up with the macho-football player facade that he can’t face the truth when it’s staring at him in the face already. And all he needed was Kurt Hummel to get him out of that, even for just a few seconds.
Glee took it up a notch (no, more than a notch) tonight. A redemption of sorts from the slack they’ve been getting from some fans since the start of Season 2. I loved the Coach Beiste side of the story too, though I think Mr. Schue shouldn’t have explained it that way to Coach Beiste. I mean, there MUST be some other way. Haha. It felt so awkward…but if that’s what the writers were going for then they hit it bull’s eye.
So far, this is the episode I really loved because of the story. The song numbers actually took a backseat (I’ve totally forgotten the guys still had a song number); the story front and center. It’s very current and can be interpreted in so many ways. You don’t literally have to be gay to pick up something from the episode.
There’s a Karofsky in all of us. Question is, who will be the Kurt Hummel to push us out of it? [Posting this at work, where Tumblr is blocked (a very good entry for FML, I know). Will be editing this at home] :)
