Basically, I can’t afford to leave work and take a Masters degree. Financially, I’m not yet there to support myself from what I earn. So the next best thing is - study on my own.
I said in my previous entry that the boss has enrolled me in IMMAP-Ateneo’s Digital Marketing Wiki, and I officially started on Thursday. So far it’s cool. The meet-your-classmates portion is done in a forum, so interaction is maximized. I can get the hang of this.
But before this course, I have a folder-full of ebooks on digital marketing and SEO modules that I’ve been studying. Advertising and marketing has indeed taken a giant leap from print and TV to the ever-present online industry. It’s a lot competitive now, given that most companies are beginning to beef up their online presence.
I’m just trying to catch up. There’s a lot to learn and do! I see a lot of promise in the online industry - it’s changing everyday.
So I hit the books this long weekend, then try to formulate ideas when the boss returns to Manila on Monday. We’re opening up the site to advertisers by December or early 2011. Excited! :D
